En Blu-ray.com acaban de publicar una entrevista con Ridley Scott, a raíz del lanzamiento de Red de mentiras, en la que habla sobre nuestro formato preferido. Os traducimos lo que dice tras el salto, aunque si se os da bien el inglés siempre podéis verlo vosotros mismos descargándolo desde aquí.

Interviewer: What do you think Blu-ray will bring to the audience if they go buy this movie on BD? What will Blu-ray give them as an experience?
Ridley Scott: It’ll give em eyesight. It’ll be like eyesight. It’s like putting on -if you don’t see too well- it’s like putting on very clear perspecticles, and if you get a really well done screen it’s a bit like being in the Swiss Alps and opening the windows in the morning and looking out, it’s like that, it’s that clear. It’s crystal clear.
Interviewer: Really?
Ridley Scott: Yeah. So I think it’s like a really different experience and everybody really watches TV today. If you’ve got -you know- the cost of the technology is really relatively small, and considering we’ve got free TV three hundred and sixty five days a year, twenty four hours a day, do yourself a favour and buy yourself a Blu-ray.

Entrevistadora: En su opinión, ¿qué cree que ofrecerá el Blu-ray al público si compran la película en BD. ¿Qué les ofrecerá el Blu-ray como experiencia?
Ridley Scott: Les dará visión mejorada. Es como ponerse unas gafas de corrección de perspectiva -si no ves demasiado bien-, ponerse unas gafas que te den gran claridad de visión. Y si tienes una buena pantalla, es un poco como estar en los Alpes Suizos, abrir la ventana por la mañana y mirar a través de ella. Es así. Así de claro. Cristalino.
Interviewer: ¿En serio?
Ridley Scott: Si. Creo que es una experiencia muy diferente y hoy en día todo el mundo ve la tele. Si lo tienes [el Blu-ray] -ya sabes- el coste de la tecnología es realmente asequible, y teniendo en cuenta que ya hay TV gratis 365 días al año, 24 horas al día, hazte un favor y cómprate un Blu-ray [sonríe].
